WHO AM I ?

Name: MENARD

Firstname: Coline

Years of surfing : 30 years + !

How it started:

I started tandem surfing with my dad when I was 6. We were living on Ré Island and I made my first take offs at the spot of « the Lizay ».

We moved to Reunion Island when I was 13 and I started competing. I specialized into longboard during the French and European Championships. Then I would get my first wildcards to the WSL (ex ASP) World Longboard Championships in 2003, and won the World Champion runner-up title in 2009 at the Roxy Jam in Biarritz.

I left Reunion Island 15 years later and spent 2 years in Australia, where I had the chance to surf Noosa and Byron Bay perfect point breaks.

I now live with my family in the South of Landes, France, in Ondres, perfectly located between Hossegor and Biarritz.

My career:

I worked 10 years as an optician and decided to recenter my professional path toward surfing in 2021, when I’ve graduated with the ISA « Surf Teacher » certificate. In 2023, I got the BPJEPS Surf diploma and officially became a Surf Teacher.

« A huge thank you for your coaching! Now I dare to get out in the water in places and conditions where I couldn’t go before. I improved a lot and above all I overcame my fears. You are the first person to have this effect on me. »

« I had an excellent time in the Oxbow Surf School. The equipment (surfboards, wetsuits, …) is good and adapted to the surfer level and surf conditions. The teachers are doing great with the children. A big thank you to Damien, Coline and Jerome. Hopefully see you next year. »
